Located in the lobby of the library, the Village of Orland Park, Park and Recreation Department Dance Troupe will perform staples of eighteenth-century ballrooms, the French Minuet, English Country Dance, Allemande, Rigadoon, and Pas de Gavotte from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Heavenly Harps, harp duo will perform Colonial pieces entitled Music in the Life of Benjamin Franklin from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Who were Ben and Deborah Franklin? Living Historians Charles and Catherine Molenda are featured this evening. While Ben nurtures his publications, inventions and travels Deborah runs the store, acts as postmistress and ignores attacks by Franklin's political rivals. Spend a lively evening with the Franklins.

Keynote Speaker and noted scholar Betsy Erkkila will give a lecture on Ben Franklin and his relationship with the Revolutionary body. Get a peek into the politics of our American colonies and this rough transitional period as many residents were trying to decide whether they should be loyalists or patriots.

Benjamin Franklin was a printer, an inventor, a writer, a scientist and a statesman. He is one of the most colorful and interesting historical figures in this country's history. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist as well as a storyteller, theatrical performer and historian, Barry Cloyd delivers his music on a multitude of instruments. Featured this evening will be music and stories of Ben Franklin, his many inventions and the Revolutionary era.

Ben Franklin believed that society's many challenges required mutual action, collaboration, and generosity. This, for Franklin, defined citizenship, in the colonies and in our young republic. Keynote Speaker and noted scholar Betsy Erkkila will give a lecture on Ben Franklin's civic vision and commitment to public service.

Living Historian Charles Molenda discusses the founding fathers, their motivations and political perspectives. Come and discover what made the authors of the Constitution tick!
Benjamin Franklin led the crusade for individual liberties during the birth of America. A State Representative, a member from the ACLU and political columnist Phil Kadner will offer a panel discussion addressing this topic as it is still relevant today.
