Orland Park Public Library is temporarily closed to help limit the spread of coronavirus and ensure the health and safety of our patrons and staff.
All due dates on items due between March 16 and June 1 have been moved to June 1. This does not affect online items, like ebooks.

In partnership with the Glen Ellyn Public Library the Orland Park Public Library invites you to a COVID-19 Q&A session with Northwestern University Biomedical Engineering PhD student Rebecca Keate. Keate will discuss common concerns regarding COVID-19, the virus origins and transmission, and social distancing measures. Keate will also discuss technologies and drugs used to improve COVID-19 patient outcomes and progress on the development of vaccines.

 

Biography

Rebecca Keate is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, where she researches electrically conductive biomaterials for tissue engineering. Rebecca graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Physics. She has work experience with Johnson & Johnson and Becton Dickinson, where she worked on medical device Research & Design teams. Her research expertise involves a diverse number of biomedical subjects, including bacterial infection, cellular mechanisms of cancer, and tissue mechanics.
