Patron Services Clerk

Part-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Patron Services Clerk to join our team who will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our library and providing excellent service to our patrons.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patrons with checking in and checking out library materials, including books, DVDs, and digital resources
  • Register new library users and update existing patron records as needed
  • Provide information and assistance to patrons regarding library policies, services, and resources

Necessary Knowledge

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Follow tasks to completion

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of work experience in a public contact/customer service position
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Fluency in other languages a plus

Library hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Starting salary is $16.55 per hour.
