The library is closed Sunday, March 31 for Easter.

Teen Loft

This enclosed space gives teens a place to work and hang out that is set aside specifically for them and caters to their library needs. Special collections, like our award books and test prep collection, will be housed here. It has ample amounts of seating including study pods, a high-top table, and bench seating. If students want a more isolated area to study, they can use one of the library’s two new study rooms. The Teen Loft has entertainment areas as well. The library has a new craft area where drop-in crafts and in-person craft programs will occur. Finally, this area has a gaming area with special seating and two TVs so teens can play on multiple systems at a time.

  • Only patrons in grades 6-12 may use the Teen Loft. Guardians or younger siblings will not be allowed to accompany the teens to use the space.
  • There are many areas to sit and read or study. The Teen Loft has low top seating, high top seating, 3 study pods, an arts and crafts table, a gaming area with soft seating, and 2 study rooms.
  • During Phase 4 of the library’s reopening plan, only 9 teens are allowed in the space at a time. Only one person per table or study room. The gaming equipment is not available at this time.
  • There are 2 study rooms available for Orland Park residents who must show proper ID. Teens are allowed 2 hours to use the study rooms. No extra time will be given.
